Katelynn O’Brien, Artist

I am a multidisciplinary artist based in Foxboro, Massachusetts. Shaped by a background in graphic design, my work draws on core design principles, featuring strong compositions and color choices grounded in harmonic symmetry.

My visual art practice spans a range of materials, including soft pastel, encaustic, mixed media, and collage. Each subject is thoughtfully paired with the medium that most fully captures its spirit and the story I want to tell.

My paintings follow a traditional approach, blending realism with notes of impressionsim, drawing on the rich colors available in soft pastel. My encaustic and mixed media work is more experimental, exploring a variety of reclaimed and natural materials. My collages carry a playful and lighthearted energy as small, whimsical works on paper.
